For years, I believed that if a product was on a store shelf, it must be safe.

But as I spent time studying how to truly fortify and protect the human body, I realized how much toxicity was hiding in plain sight—even in products labeled “for sensitive skin” or “natural.” In late 2018, I made a firm decision for my family: every product in our home with synthetic fragrances, harsh chemicals, or hidden toxins was cleared out. From face washes and toothpastes to shampoos and lotions—all gone. When the dust settled, our cabinets were practically bare.

Since I was 12 years old, I’ve fought a relentless battle with Seborrheic Dermatitis. If you deal with Seb Derm, fungal acne, or sensitive skin, you know the physical and emotional toll it takes. Even as an active music producer releasing tracks under my record label J Farell Music and crafting major-label remixes for artists like Alicia Keys, Selena Gomez, and J. Cole, demanding studio environments continuously test my skin.

My turning point came when I became a daddy. I chose to pivot my daily work routine to prioritize my children, build a legacy they could carry forward, and hand-pour every clean, small-batch product right here in New Jersey.

Out of pure necessity, I started formulating small-batch products—first for myself, so I could finally feel human again, and then for my children, so they wouldn’t have to fight the same battles I did. I applied that exact same studio precision I use in music production directly to formulating clean, skin-safe solutions.

Before long, word started to spread. Parents at birthday parties, family events, and Gymboree classes began asking what we were using and where they could buy it. That organic, community demand was the spark. In February 2019, I officially launched J Farell—crafting clean, effective life essentials designed to be completely safe for sensitive skin and gentle on the planet.

Today, every formula I make is rooted in those exact same values. In May 2024, I took my commitment to the planet a step further by partnering with an international tree-planting service to plant a tree with every single customer’s order.
