Our clean scent fragrances adhere to the following criteria:

• They will not contain any of the 19 antimicrobials banned by the FDA as of 2016.
• They will not include any of the more than 900 chemicals listed under California’s Proposition 65 that exceed the Safe Harbor Limits set by the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA).
• They will not contain any of the 125+ chemicals recognized by OSHA as potentially harmful.

No way, no how. Definitely not!

Pure Pomade is oil based which allows for a flexible hold. It could take 2 to 3 hair washes to completely wash out. That’s what makes this formula so versatile.

Here’s a tip: In the shower on your dry hair, try pumping the shampoo into your hand and then working it into your dry hair for a few minutes to help break down the oil in the pomade. (Try to use a neutral-colored shampoo for this step so that the color doesn’t attach to the oils). It’s totally normal for the shampoo not to foam up when using it on dry hair. And then, after a few minutes of massaging it through your dry hair follicles, you can wet your hair to rinse it all out. Then you can shampoo regularly a second or third time to cleanse your hair completely.

Super easy! Even though Clean Clay is oil-based, the kaolinite clay absorbs most of the oils. This makes it very easy to wash out Clean Clay products after one rinse.

Our hair styling products are formulated with beeswax, and they might feel a bit firm to the touch when scooping from the container. You may need to put a little pressure when scooping.

Pro Tip: Rub your finger on the top of the product to warm, and then scoop.

Fungal acne appears a lot like hormonal acne or bacterial acne, but the cause isn’t the same as other types of acne. Instead, it is an overgrowth of yeast that infiltrates the hair follicles to create pimple-like bumps. The condition is technically referred to as pityrosporum folliculitis or malassezia folliculitis.

Seborrheic dermatitis, a prevalent skin issue primarily targeting the scalp, manifests through scaly patches, inflamed skin, and persistent dandruff. It typically impacts oil-prone regions like the face, sides of the nose, eyebrows, ears, eyelids, and chest. While this condition can be bothersome, it’s important to note it’s non-contagious and doesn’t lead to permanent hair loss.

Our customers that have been battling fungal acne or seb dermatitis for decades trust our Fungal Acne Safe product line. Our founder formulated the products ingredient-by-ingredient to make absolutely sure that it could safely be used without promoting the growth of fungal acne (also known as pityrosporum folliculitis / malassezia). There are no other fungal acne safe hair-styling products on the market, and many of us had scoured the internet for years.

Our MCT oil is fungal acne safe and seborrheic dermatitis safe. The MCT Oil we use is specifically is formulated to have lauric acid removed. If an oil, fatty acid, or ester has a carbon chain length less than 11, it is not likely to promote fungal acne or seb dermatitis. For example, fungal acne safe MCT oils will bear carbon chain lengths ranging from 6 to 10. 8 is the most favored for its anti-fungal and skin-benefiting properties.

• Zero Water (Anhydrous): Malassezia yeast requires water to activate, metabolize, and breed. Because our styling clay contains absolutely zero water, the yeast cannot physically thrive or feed inside the jar.
• The MCT & Kaolin Shield: We pair our organic beeswax with a high concentration of pure MCT Oil (which actively starves Malassezia) and Kaolin Clay (which absorbs the excess scalp sebum that the yeast actually feeds on).
• Designed for Hair, Not Face: Fungal acne primarily triggers on highly active sebaceous zones on the face and chest. As a hair product, our formula sits on the hair shaft and upper scalp, creating a breathable, protective barrier rather than a clogged environment.
